The Pool Player News Magazine is Coming back  This Month    until then  Here is a Special Note : From Barbara M.

Are there some outstanding, talented pool players around here or what?  What an opportunity the pool leagues offer…regardless of what league you play in, what night you play, team or singles, there is nothing like a league match or tournament to let you show your stuff.  Organized play by the leagues rewards the top league & top team shooters, has turkey shoots and a variety of tournaments including State Tournaments and qualifiers for the National Tournaments.

The ACS/VNEA has some new things in store for all!!  League play does offer a lot, but we want to offer more!!

 In September we met with the Thursday Night Open team captains & asked if they were interested in a larger prize fund.  So all chipped in an extra $3/wk, increasing the prize fund by $1980.  Check this out!!!  1st Place - $800;2nd - $650; 3rd - $525; 4th - $400; 5th - $375; 6th - $350; 7th - $325; 8th -  $300; 9th - $275; 10th $250.

Next up was the “Scotch Scramble” as a State Tournament.  We were really excited about the opportunity to offer something new AND a tournament where all levels of players would have a chance to win.  A great idea, so much easier said than done!!  Thankfully, Sandy insisted on a practice run to make sure we the Scotch Scramble State Tournament would run smoothly.

The “Scotch Scramble” practice tournament was held Dec 12 2 Sandites with 13 teams participating.  We asked for player feedback and we got it!!  Everyone loved it, yes, they will be playing at state, but do you think you could fix it so I can play with all my team mates??  Consider it done!!  Now within the first (5) (4) games all team members will play together.  Another important change is that only one (1) “AAA” player per team is allowed.

Want to play, but don’t have a team?  Call us….we will help you put a team together.

In the works, for those of you than run all over town and are either obsessed or possessed, or both, by that forever competitive spirit, do we ever have something in mind for you!!  Our objectives:  1st – An opportunity for players to have some fun while being challenged through organized, competitive play; 2nd – A good prize fund – supported by your weekly dues & added money.

Call or email us & we will see you get the information.  ACS/VNEA invites you to participate in something new.
